I am a political scientist studying development, conflict, and terrorism in Africa. I teach at the University of Maryland, where I am also the Director of the program in International Development and Conflict Management (IDCM) and a Research Affiliate at the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START).
