Community-based Policing and the Prevention of Violent Extremism in Benin
I am currently directing a State Department-funded program that aims to reduce the threat of extremism in Benin by improving information sharing between border police agents and the communities they serve.
Terrorism and Democracy in Africa
In this project with Trey Billing, we use a spatio-temporal matching strategy to evaluate the effects of terrorist attacks on democratic preferences. We find that terrorist attacks undermine both satisfaction with democracy and victims' demand for democracy. Working paper; please email for details.
